Platinum:  A grayish metal that resembles stainless steel, yet 15x rarer than gold.  Platinum in its pure form is much harder than gold, yet not as hard as titanium. Platinum is alloyed with either iridium or palladium (up to10%) and the remainder is 90% platinum.  This is what we use and  sometimes pure platinum.  When alloyed,  the strength of platinum virtually doubles.  Platinum is different than white gold. The only similarity would be in colour.  Platinum is an expensive, regal metal.
